Batley End Of Season Custom Show 16th October 2010
Well here we are the start of the season seemed to start so slow then all of a sudden it’s the last Ysa event of the year. The day starting great whether was what we wanted sun shining so hopefully it will bring out the scooters and plenty of scooterists. All stalls and custom scooters in place it was time for the doors to open, There was a steady flow of people coming through the door first stop for most are the stalls with the Ysa stall with a couple of great new items one being the new if its not from Yorkshire Hoodie. Other stalls included Parts Stalls, Army Surplus, Records/Cds and more.
In the doorway there was also 2 large boards with pictures from the earlier in the year fantastic Coast event some work had been put into that also there was the trophies for the custom show. Inside the main room its time for a pint and a look around some of the great custom scooters, A few of the old favourites were there Faithful Friend, Menace, Liquidator and a few more. But we were treated to a few new scooters Ink Inflickted, a nice looking 1966 150 sprint, and a couple of new rat scooters we had not seen I feel very sorry for the judges with so much to choose from. After a look round it give us chance to have a sit down and listen to some great sounds from the Mod For It DJs & Tidsy.
And what music these lads always give us not just at this event but most Ysa and Yorkshire rallys. Then it was time for the Northern Soul dance off and there was some great moves on that dance floor especially from the young couple who won the competition. A quick look outside give us a chance to have a look around some of the scooters outside quite a few nice scooters outside as well but in my view there was less outside than other years but then the rain started and it was time to take cover most returning back inside for the skank off once again some great moves and the winner for this was one of the South Bradford lads. The end of the skank off and there was no time to catch your breath and it was time for the lads from over the border The Uplifters took to the stage to keep us entertained with some great ska music with tracks with the likes of Wake up fight back, Dance not fight, Rough rider, and loads more excellent tracks and these lads got wot we all expect a great Yorkshire welcome
I am sure we will see a lot more of these lads in the next few years they were telling me later they have a record deal coming up soon so watch out for this.
A 10 minute break and then it was time for the results for the YSA Best supported awards, Raffle, Custom Show which can be seen below. Then it was time to say goodbye to another great Batley event and look forward to next years start of season Batley event. A few left from here and went up the road to the Beat Authority Frontier after party at bar deco if anyone has any pictures from this and a review please feel free to send it in for use on the online mag.
