Run Report: Twisted Pistons Custom Show, Cologne 09/10.10.2010 As my LI was to be a part of the club display for the Kulturbanausen and Filthy & Sly clubs as an early advertisment for our run next year ( Flyer's will be handed out in Bridlington if anyone is interested in a top class German run next year ), I made my way to Cologne bright and early Saturday to try to make our given 10 AM set up slot. I got slightly lost in Cologne so after I strapped the TomTom to the spare wheel I carried on and made it just in time to find that the allocated slot had been arranged for 9 AM, but that part of it hadn’t got to me...so I was late...German efficiency my ar*e ! Those of us who had scooters on the club display got set up, and after Jossie had got his mod mannequin dressed and we had enjoyed some grub next door we decided it would be a good time to hit the bar & the rest is a blur, I just have a vague memory of trying to ride the scoot up the metal ramp from the bottom level after the show finished and getting stuck half way up to the amusement of all……bugger ! The after-show-nighter was rockin’, dunno how but we all managed to make it through to the early hours….again ! Deffo too old for this sh*te ! A wierd phone call from my club mate Eddie at silly o'clock Sunday morning had me out of the feathers early, some grumbled moaning noise asking if I had his car key cos’ he had just got back to his car and couldn’t find it, but when I managed to get sense out of him much later he had found it under his arse on the passenger seat of his car where he had been sleeping on it...so fooked if I know in which wierd and wonderful cloud his head was in ! I guess compared to the UK shows it was a smaller affair with about 60 scooters on show, but there were some class machines to be seen in Cologne with some top notch german engineering somehow getting round the strict M.O.T. laws here. Plenty of the scoots on show have already graced the pages of Scootering etc.past and present and would surely be contenders for silverware in most UK custom shows. Some piccy’s attached, don’t be fooled by the lack of visitors on the foto’s cos’ I took em’ early doors….wise decision when I think about the state I was in later in the day ;o) Big compliment to the Twisted Pistons S.C. for organising a top weekend.
