Dolphin n Docs
Dolphins & Docs 2011
Another trip over to the east coast again for the ysa, but this time for our first event at a holiday camp, Blue Dolphin Filey to be exact.
On arrival it was to the booking in area, to get chalet numbers, this was a queueing system with a blue balloon or silver one, the blue side had a very long queue.
The silver one had no one, which was mine; thinking either in for a good chalet, or with no one there, to end up with a dodgy one. After a bit of a search for the chalet, time for a cup of coffee and to sit at the window watching scooterists going round and round trying to find their chalets which was quite funny. Big Bob from South Bradford was one of them going backwards and forwards trying to find his home for the weekend. After a while we saw a load of Indians walking up from the tent area, which was another funny sight later to find out it was to celebrate one of their members 40th birthday.
With 7pm comes the time for us to go up to the main venue, to help get ready for the nights shindig, We started off on the door and the numbers of people waiting to get in was looking good for a great night. There was a great mixture of sounds coming from the YSA DJs and the dance floor soon filled up. Then 9.30pm came and it was time for the band The Superlatives who gave us an hour with a mixture of sounds, entertaining the crowd. Then back to the sounds from the DJs to help finish a great night
Next morning it was a early start for us, to get ready for the custom show and parts fair for a 10am opening. A variety of stalls helped too make this a good one for the YSA, the mixture including big Ritchie from Barnsley with all his spares, also lambretta clothing, an army surplus and also a canvas art stall, sorry if no mention but a big thanks for turning up and hope to see you all at future events. The YSA stall had a few new dolphin & docs items with polo shirts metal, badges, stickers, keyrings (we still have a few of the YSA items left if anyone still need any of the items, just get in touch and let me know). 10am arrives and a steady flow come through the door with those who had blue bands part of the weekends entertainment, and for the day trippers it was only £3. Good value in my eyes for the amount of stalls and custom show entrants. Noon and we start to see a few blurry eyes, these are from some of the ones who partied in to the early hours. Into the afternoon and making this a child friendly event, we had a young lady called Sticks who took the kids to colour pictures of scooters for a competition, and also took them round to do the kids choice best scooter. On the door during the day and night was a raffle, with a chance to win flat screen television and wii with games, also a large dolphin and docs banner which was hung up on the stage all weekend.

The day was coming to end and it was time to start tidying up for the nights entertainment, with the doors opening at 8pm, Again on doors opening a lot of people waiting to get in made the atmosphere in the room electric, with sounds once again coming from a different mixture of YSA djs, the dance floor full again till it was time for the band Circa, who gave us a great mixture of sounds from the Who to Paul Weller and loads more. After this it was time to give out the prizes for the custom show results which are below, and time for the raffle, and for a change all prizes winners were in the room and no crys for a redraw. Returning to the DJs and music till 2am when time was called and a lot of moans from people who had to leave this brilliant weekend, even the kids that were still left standing wanted more. Back to the chalet for a good nights sleep, there was also chance to stay a extra night which I couldn’t, for Nana’s karaoke and a bit more music from the DJs. This was one of the best rallys of the year and hopefully we get the chance to go back and have another great weekend.
